Hello. This is a blog designed for you, the reader. I am the city beat reporter for Elk Grove. If you're wondering what "beat" means, think about a pulse. In journalism, "beat" means what a reporter is assigned to cover on a consistent basis. But, I want to go beyond that and try to write about the city "pulse".
