I was laid off by The Sacramento Bee on June 16 (see this rtrider post and this rtrider work topic ). Since I have all of this free time, I figured I might as well put some of it to use here.

The first thing I've finished is an improvement in the way this site uses the XML list of blogs I monitor using Google Reader. It is now much easier for me to update the list of blogs monitored.  However, in doing that I removed the "feature" that allowed visitors to see a list of the blogs in reverse chronological order, with the newest additions at the top.

Rather than attempt to recreate that functionality, I've decided to use this blog to announce the new additions. This will allow me to include extra info about the site -- this replaces that old one, this is run by same guy who runs that one, etc.
